“Nice job, dude — we nailed the cliff!”

My name is Amy Harper, and we have four children. We live in Blackfoot, Idaho, and our kids range in age from 16 down to 3.

We chose to come to Idaho Orthodontics because we were referred by friends, and we’ve been really impressed with the doctors, the facility, and the care our kids have received so far.

Our daughter Meline had just a few minor corrections that needed to be made and wasn’t going to need treatment for as long, so we felt like Invisalign® would be a good choice for her.

For Lily, she had bigger tooth movements that needed to be made and would be in treatment longer, so it was more cost-effective for us to do braces with her.

And then Truman has a coil spring in to create some space between teeth that needed to be pulled.

Meline:
I like to come here because the people are super nice, and they do a good job.

Having a nice smile is kind of your way of introducing yourself to someone. If you have a nice smile, you come across as nicer. For me, one of the first things I notice about a person is their smile and their teeth and how good they look. I think that really helps and plays a big part in your personality.

The consulting with the doctors was great. There were some things with Lily’s teeth that needed to be addressed, and they were great about answering our questions. They were very thorough in explaining the details and information for both Invisalign and braces.

Meline:
I felt like my treatment was personalized because I don’t have the same teeth as her, and she doesn’t have the same teeth as me. They really focused on what I needed to get a good smile.

Lily:
I thought mine was pretty personalized too, because they focused on my teeth, took it step by step, and used different treatments than what they did for her.

I would recommend Idaho Orthodontics because it’s a great facility. Everything is always nice and clean, and they’re just super friendly.

Video Frequently Asked Questions

Harper Family Testimonial

How do you decide which child gets Invisalign and which gets braces?
At Idaho Orthodontics, treatment is based on each child’s specific needs, not a one-size-fits-all approach. In this family, one daughter had minor tooth movement, so Invisalign was a great fit. Another needed bigger movements and longer treatment, so braces were more cost-effective. The doctors evaluate each child’s teeth, bite, and goals, then recommend the option that makes the most sense for that individual.
Can siblings have different orthodontic treatments at the same office?
Absolutely. It’s very common for one child to be in Invisalign, another in braces, and a younger sibling in an early treatment appliance like a coil spring or expander. Idaho Orthodontics customizes treatment for each child, even within the same family, so everyone gets the care that’s right for their smile and stage of growth.
Is treatment at Idaho Orthodontics really personalized?
Yes. The Harpers’ experience is a good example: each child’s plan was tailored to their teeth, treatment length, and budget. The doctors took time to explain the differences between Invisalign and braces, answer questions, and adjust the plan step-by-step. Patients often say they feel like the team is focused on their unique smile, not just a generic process.
Why do families from places like Blackfoot choose Idaho Orthodontics?
Families from Blackfoot and surrounding Southeast Idaho communities choose Idaho Orthodontics because of the combination of friendly, kind staff who help kids feel comfortable, skilled doctors who take time to explain options, a clean modern facility, and flexible treatment choices like Invisalign, braces, and early intervention. Parents appreciate that their kids are treated well, the office is easy to work with, and care feels both professional and personal.
