Discover how digital intraoral scanning and 3D printing are making brace placement faster, more accurate, and more efficient—leading to shorter treatment times.
[Dr. Jeff Mcminn]
Thanks to our intraoral scanning technology, we can now place braces digitally—moving the teeth precisely where we want them to be. Using this digital plan, we then 3D print a custom brace placement guide, allowing for faster and more accurate brace placement.
Before this technology, braces were placed manually, one by one in the mouth. That process was slower and less accurate.
Now, bracket placement is accurate to within a tenth of a millimeter. This level of precision can lead to quicker and shorter overall treatment times.
Using our intraoral scanning technology, we’re now able to place braces digitally.
First, we scan your teeth and virtually move them into the ideal positions. From there, we 3D print a custom brace placement guide that helps us position each bracket exactly where it needs to go. This lets us do more accurate and faster brace placements.
Before this technology, braces were placed one bracket at a time directly in the mouth, which made the process longer and often less precise.
With our digital process, bracket placement is accurate down to a tenth of a millimeter. This level of accuracy can lead to more efficient tooth movement and can result in quicker, shorter overall treatment times.
