Meet Dr. Jeff McMullin of Idaho Orthodontics—born and raised in Pocatello, passionate about transforming smiles, and dedicated to creating a welcoming experience for every patient.
I'm Dr. Jeff McMinn, orthodontist at Idaho Orthodontics. I was born and raised in Pocatello, and my father was also an orthodontist in Pocatello and Blackfoot. That gave me early exposure to the world of orthodontics. I started working with him as a sterilizer as a teenager, and that experience sparked my desire to become an orthodontist myself.
There are two things I enjoy most about this profession. First, the interpersonal relationships I get to develop with both patients and their parents. Second, I love seeing the transformation in my patients’ lives. There’s nothing better than hearing someone say they now love to smile—something they didn’t feel confident doing before.
Growing up in Pocatello was a blessing. I’ve always loved the outdoors—biking, skiing, golfing, and boating—and this area has it all right nearby. I’ve lived in several places throughout the U.S. during my education, and I can honestly say the people in southeast Idaho are some of the kindest and most genuine I’ve ever met.
Outside of work, it’s shorts, flip-flops, and a baseball cap. I enjoy getting home, hopping on my bike, and riding in the hills of Pocatello. My family and I also love spending time at American Falls Reservoir, wakeboarding, wake surfing, and just enjoying time together. Weekends are usually busier than weekdays for us!
When people ask why I chose to return to southeast Idaho to raise a family, my answer is simple: I wouldn’t have it any other way.
At Idaho Orthodontics, our goal is to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for every patient. From your very first visit, we aim to make you feel calm and never pressured. Our role is to educate and support you in making the decision that’s best for you or your child.
With two orthodontists—Dr. Brown and myself—working together, every case gets a built-in second opinion. We review treatment plans as a team to ensure the best outcome possible.
If you've ever considered orthodontic treatment for yourself or your child, I’d love the opportunity to sit down, explore your options, and help you make a decision that could change your life.
I’m Dr. Jeff McMinn, orthodontist at Idaho Orthodontics.
I was born and raised in Pocatello. My father was an orthodontist here in Pocatello and in Blackfoot, so I had a lot of opportunities growing up to see what orthodontics had to offer. I worked in his office as a sterilizer, and as a teenager I started to develop a real desire to become an orthodontist myself.
There are two things I enjoy most about being an orthodontist.
First, the relationships I’m able to build with patients and their parents. Second, I love seeing the change we make in people’s lives. There’s nothing better than having a child or an adult come in after their braces are removed and tell me they finally love to smile—something they didn’t do before.
I loved growing up in Pocatello because it has so much to offer. I enjoy being outdoors—biking, skiing, golfing, and boating—and we have all of that so close by. In my opinion, Pocatello is the ideal place to live if you love the outdoors.
I’ve lived in several places across the United States during my education, and overall I’d have to say the people in southeast Idaho are some of the kindest, nicest people I’ve met anywhere.
As soon as I leave work, it’s shorts, flip-flops, and a baseball cap. I love getting home, changing my clothes, and hopping on my bike to ride in the hills of Pocatello. I love getting out with my kids—biking, boating, and spending time together. We frequently go to American Falls Reservoir as a family to wakeboard, wakesurf, and just enjoy being together. A normal weekend is usually busier for me than a work week!
People ask why I chose southeast Idaho as the place to raise my family. The only way I can answer that is: I wouldn’t have it any other way.
At Idaho Orthodontics, we want to create an atmosphere that helps you feel comfortable at every visit. At your first appointment—when you might be nervous to sit down with the orthodontist—we want you to feel calm and relaxed, not pressured to start treatment. Our goal is to educate you, so you can make the decision that feels best for you and your family.
Having two orthodontists working together gives us a built-in second opinion on every case. Dr. Brown and I sit down together, review each case, and make sure we’re recommending the ideal treatment plan for you or your child.
If you’ve ever thought about having orthodontic treatment for yourself or for your child, I’d love the opportunity to sit down, talk with you about your options, and help you make a decision that can change your life forever.
