Video Frequently Asked Questions

Embrace Yourself at Idaho Orthodontics

Is Idaho Orthodontics a good place for kids who feel nervous about braces?
Yes. Our team is very used to working with children and teens who may feel a little anxious at first. We keep things friendly and relaxed, explain each step in kid-friendly language, and focus on building confidence so your child feels comfortable and cared for at every visit.
How do you help kids feel confident about their smiles during treatment?
We celebrate progress and encourage kids at every stage—from their first appointment to the day braces come off. Our doctors and team focus on positive reinforcement, helpful education, and a fun, welcoming environment so kids can see braces as a step toward an even more confident smile, not something to be embarrassed about.
What’s the best age for my child to see an orthodontist?
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends a first orthodontic check-up around age 7. That doesn’t always mean braces right away, but it allows us to monitor growth, spot any concerns early, and plan the right time for treatment so your child can enjoy a healthy, confident smile.
Do you offer consultations for kids’ braces and treatment options?
Yes, we offer free, no-pressure consultations for kids and teens. During the visit, we’ll look at your child’s teeth and bite, talk about their needs and goals, and discuss treatment options like braces or Invisalign® Teen if appropriate. You’ll leave with clear information and can decide what feels best for your family.
